Many motorists may be noticing an increase of dead Armadillos on our roadways lately. Homeowners are certainly seeing an increase in this pest’s activities judging by the number of recent phone calls we have experienced.
We would like to advise any “do it your selfers” to use extra precaution when dealing with this pest. Armadillos are carriers of Leprosy and can transmit this disease to humans.
Armadillos burrow for harborage and also burrow in search of grubs and earth worms for food. Since they are nocturnal for the most part, homeowners may not know the source of the destruction being caused in the yard.
